Brad began his lighting career in 1994 managing a showroom in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He quickly found that he had great passion for lighting design and the role that lighting played in the spaces that we live, work, and play. Specializing in residential design, Brad feels that this experience has allowed him to have a great understanding of how product can be applied to a space for the optimum result.
Early in 2002 Brad was approached by a prominent lighting vendor about joining their sales team and taking his passion for the industry to a larger arena; this opportunity ultimately led to the formation of Group1 which now represents some of the finest lighting and ceiling fan companies in the industry.
As the Group1 principal, Brad believes that their mission is to educate and inspire, and that staying on trend feeds their creative energy and is fundamental to their success.

Kris has enjoyed a lifetime of jobs in customer service, sales, marketing, coaching and training. Kris’s love for helping people find solutions and guide them thru the process started young at her first job in retail.
Kris began her lighting career in 1995 working as a lighting consultant at a showroom in Minneapolis. She learned the importance of knowing and understanding all aspects of the industry in order to offer her clients the best lighting solutions.
She spent 15 years in the residential lighting industry as an independent sales representative before joining Group 1 in 2015.
As a part of the Group 1 team, she creates and teaches custom training programs to empower lighting and design professionals with knowledge to help them specify product with confidence and efficiency. It’s important to her to help create a vision and road map for success with her clients that they can build on together.
Tess Oglesby

Tess Oglesby resides in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She has held positions in several industries and is
experienced in management support, office administration and customer service.
Tess began working in the lighting industry in 2016 when she joined the Group 1 team. She
contributes to the success of Group 1 by supporting its sales team in an array of administrative
responsibilities, including acting as customer service liaison between dealer showrooms and
manufacturers, assisting with dealer product inventories, building product training
presentations, and managing the rep agency website/social media content.
Tess enjoys her role at Group 1 and strives to apply her natural skills of organization and
attention to detail to every project she undertakes on the agency’s behalf.
